Creating a modern patio surrounded by nature is a dream for many homeowners. Postech Screw Piles Muskoka brought this dream to life for one of their customers by constructing a large, low-profile deck around their modern country home in Rosseau, Ontario. This stunning deck, entirely built on Postech screw piles, showcases the perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Location: Rosseau, Ontario
Client: Modern country home owner
Structure: Large low-profile deck
Foundation: Postech screw piles
To achieve the refined look desired by the client, the deck was installed on 2×6″ timber at ground level. The multiple-level patio seamlessly integrates with the natural turf, creating a serene, zen-like atmosphere. The use of concrete and wood in the construction adds to the modern aesthetic.
Screw Piles Used: 44 screw piles (2 3/8 inch)
Installation Time: 2 days
Every project comes with its unique challenges. For this boat deck-style terrace, the primary challenge was dealing with a thick layer of sand in the initial inches of the ground. This is typical of the area and required careful maneuvering. As the installers screwed in the piles, they encountered denser dirt, which provided a firm foundation.
The deck’s specific design demanded precision, with little room for error. Despite these challenges, the experience and professionalism of the Postech Screw Piles Muskoka team ensured a successful installation.
Even with the need to excavate rocks, screw piles proved to be the best choice for this project compared to traditional concrete foundations. Postech’s small machinery had minimal impact on the ground during both excavation and pile installation. Additionally, Postech Screw Piles’ hot-dip galvanized thermal pile technology guarantees a stable foundation for decades.
Are you inspired to create your own modern patio surrounded by nature? Consider the benefits of using Postech screw piles for a foundation that combines strength, longevity, and minimal environmental impact.
