Technical Sheets - Adjustable Heads

Adjustable heads can be used on projects where lateral or bending forces are not an issue. Their threaded rod makes final leveling of the head in the field quick and easy. This makes them ideal for light construction and residential projects. Adjustable heads connect to the piles with adapters. Where pull-out forces are an issue, a wind-lift adapter must be used.

L-shaped adjustable head

Ideal when framing beams are not standard size. Head has a 6″ base plate with no edge on one side so it slides easily under the structure being supported. Can be securely attached to framing with ½” lag screws. To best resist pull-out forces, the use of four lag screws is recommended.

What types of structures can you connect Postech adjustable heads to?

Wood structures

You can connect Postech fixed heads directly to wooden structures using bolts, lag screws or any other suitable structural fastener.

Steel structures

Postech fixed heads can be bolted or welded directly to steel structures, depending on the project.

Concrete structures

You can connect Postech fixed heads to concrete structures. Our standard concrete heads can be anchored with sufficient concrete cover; rebar can be welded to the head on site to facilitate connection to the concrete reinforcement. Our engineering team can also design custom anchoring heads to accommodate specific loads.
