Thinking About Building a Deck?
Transforming outdoor spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing areas is what we excel at. One of our recent projects for a client at one of our franchisee's sites involved the installation of a beautiful wooden deck with a covered pergola. This combination not only expanded their living space but also created a perfect spot to enjoy the summer season outdoors.
To ensure the deck and pergola were built on a solid foundation and provide peace of mind for many years, the client trusted Guy Trahan's team of experts from Postech Suroît / Valleyfield. For this project, 12 screw piles with a 2 3/8″ diameter were installed.
The added weight and height from the pergola required careful consideration of the pile diameter and appropriate heads. Guy Trahan, the experienced owner of Postech Suroît / Valleyfield, recommended using custom adjustable 3 1/2″ U-shaped heads to ensure stability and durability.
One common challenge in screw pile installation is soil quality. In this project, the rocky ground required the use of a mini excavator to dig at the pile locations and remove the rocks. Despite this, the team’s extensive experience ensured the task was completed without damaging the client's land, delivering a clean and solid foundation.
Remarkably, the installation of the piles only took one morning. By the afternoon, the client could start building their deck. This efficiency is a testament to the skill and experience of our team.
Using Postech screw piles offered several benefits:
Our certified installers can lay a screw pile foundation in half a day with just a two-person team. The use of light machinery ensures minimal disruption to the land.
