Technical Sheets - Fixed Heads

Fixed heads transmit forces applied to the piles, whether lateral, compressive, or tensile. They consist of a flat plate that connects to the structure on top, and a tube that is bolted to the installed pile supporting the structure from below. Postech fixed heads can connect directly to wood, concrete, or steel structures.

Flat head for concrete

Concrete support heads

Fit perfectly into concrete structures supported by piles. Provide a solid anchor that effectively transfers the applied load to the pile.

Knife blade head

Blade support heads

Blades are inserted into a slot previously cut and bolted into the base of a wooden column. Transfer any bending, shearing, or pull-out stresses from the applied load to the pile.

U Shape Fixed Heads

Fixed U support heads

Do not require a pre-cut slot in the column or wood to which they are attached. Instead, the heads are attached to wooden structures with bolts that pass edge-to-edge through the wooden beams to take full advantage of their structural capacity.

What types of structures can you connect Postech fixed heads to?

Wood structures

You can connect Postech fixed heads directly to wooden structures using bolts, lag screws or any other suitable structural fastener.

Steel structures

Postech fixed heads can be bolted or welded directly to steel structures, depending on the project.

Concrete structures

You can connect Postech fixed heads to concrete structures. Our standard concrete heads can be anchored with sufficient concrete cover; rebar can be welded to the head on site to facilitate connection to the concrete reinforcement. Our engineering team can also design custom anchoring heads to accommodate specific loads.
