Installation of Postech screw piles in place of frost wall for a garage rebuild project in Barrie, ON.
As part of this client’s garage rebuild project, Postech Muskoka was given the mandate to install screw piles in place of frost wall. On this picture, we can see the client’s former garage. Who wants to see its new one?
The first step of the project required to demolish the client’s old garage and to excavate the area, which was done to enable building on fresh soil.
With the area now excavated, Postech Muskoka can begin installing the first piles of the project. As you can see, precision and alignment are key when it comes to building foundations.
On this picture, we can see the area being prepared for the installation of concrete beams. At that moment, our screw piles, which included flat-shaped heads on top, had also been installed and welded to match the required specifications of the construction plan.
Next step of the project involved building grade beam foundations. Here is the beginning of it.
As a reinforcement for the grade beam foundations, the customer helped the Postech team by creating a rebar cage made from bent rebar. The said cage would fit into the grade beam form.
Half of the form of the grade beam had now been completed. The other one was about to be built.
There you go! The form had now been completed with rebar to accept concrete for grade beam foundations.
A closer look at the form from within. Concrete guys will now take over to complete the foundation work.
Slabs of concrete have just been put over Postech Muskoka’s form to create grade beam foundations. With the foundation work now over, other workers will work on building the garage itself.
The rebuilding of the garage is well underway!
A glance at it from the inside. Nonetheless to say, there is a lot of work behind such project!
A final look at the client’s garage. The siding work will be completed in the summer of 2018. Even though our screw piles are not visible anymore, we are proud of our contribution to the project. Great work once again from the Postech Muskoka team!
